Wireless

Today is not like yesterday. Wireless will not go away.

The current Laptop, Tablet and Smart phone are wonderful tools in the Business world, yet they lack secure hard wire connection to the network. Speeds that could once only be reached through a hardware connection are now possible with wireless. Wireless communication redundancy, called Multi In Multi Out (MIMO), helps aid the speed and reliability of a wireless signal.

But this comes with some security concerns. The signal is transmitted from an Access Point in the form of a bubble. When this bubble penetrates the outer office wall, unauthorized devices can connect to it.

Securing the wireless signal with protocols and passwords is a necessity, but we can go farther with MAC address filtering.  Each device has a MAC Address, a unique address associated with that device, that the network can be programmed to communicate with these addresses alone.
